Extended Day Program The children have already attended the half-day program in the morning. For children who do not nap, the time from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. is very special. There is a lesson in penmanship, and a mathematics workbook is introduced, if the child is ready for it. The focus of the afternoon is botany (the study of plants), zoology (the study of animals), geography, and simple history. The excitement and interest that the children exhibit in discovering the world about them make the afternoon program a joy for the children and the teachers.
